Demonstrate against the BNP annual conference in Blackpool
Saturday 25 November at 12 noon
North West Region Unite Against Fascism together with Blackpool Fylde and Wyre TUC have called a demonstration to protest against the British National Party holding its annual conference in Blackpool.
The demonstration will show the people of Blackpool the strength of opposition to the BNP and other fascist organisations, and make it clear to the BNP that its racist politics are not wanted here. We need a BIG turnout for this one – it's likely to be the only large demonstration in the region between now and the council elections next May.
Where: Opposite the main entrance to the Winter Gardens at Winstanley Grove, outside the Yorkshire Bank and St John's Church. A map will be available later.
Plan: If we discover where the BNP conference is, we will relocate the demo on the day. If not, we'll have a number of speakers followed by a mass leafleting of the shopping centre.
Speakers to be confirmed.
Dress up warm. It's chilly in Blackpool in November.
Lifts: If you'd like to go but will need a lift, let us know by email (lancaster.uaf@zen.co.uk) or call us on 01524 840074. You can safely leave a message. Same thing if you're going and have spare space in a vehicle.
This is our one and only opportunity to show Blackpool BNP that we are here and we are opposing them. It's vital to stop the growth of the BNP in the region and this demo is a good start. Let's make it a great and noisy demo.
Please spread the word about the demo as far and wide as you can.
